Finish carpentry is the part of a renovation people actually touch. Tight mitres, doors that close with one finger, stair treads that do not creak and panelling that reads as part of the house: that is what separates a good renovation from an expensive one. Our carpenters do this work in-house, on every project.
What we build and install
- Wall panelling and mouldings: box and picture-frame panelling, wainscoting, crown moulding and coffered ceilings.
- Trim and doors: baseboards, casings, interior doors, pocket and barn doors, hardware and adjustments.
- Stairs: new treads and risers, open-riser stairs, wood and metal railings, newel posts.
- Built-ins: bookcases, window seats, mudroom benches, closets and media walls, scribed to walls and ceilings.
- Cabinet installation: kitchens, vanities and millwork from our CR Kitchens cabinetry partner, levelled and fitted on site.
Details that matter
Old Toronto houses are never square. We scribe every built-in to the actual wall, cope inside corners instead of mitring them, and fill and caulk before paint so the finish lasts. When the painter arrives, the carpentry is already invisible.
