Everything you see in a finished renovation sits on the framing. If a wall is out of plumb, a floor has a dip or a header is undersized, the drywall cracks, the tile lifts and the doors never close properly. Country Renovations frames every project with our own carpenters, to engineered drawings where required and to the Ontario Building Code everywhere else.
What we frame
- Additions and extensions: floor systems, exterior walls, roof framing and sheathing for second storeys and rear additions.
- Load-bearing changes: temporary shoring, new headers, LVL and steel beam installation, posts and point loads carried down to footings.
- Basements: insulated exterior wall framing, partition walls, bulkheads around ductwork, and egress window openings.
- Interior layout changes: new rooms, closets, openings and door relocations, with blocking for cabinets, grab bars and wall-mounted fixtures.
- Floor repairs: sistering sagging joists, levelling, and new subfloor glued and screwed to stop squeaks.
How we do it
We check the existing structure before we price, so there are no surprises when walls open. Framing is inspected by the City where a permit applies, and we do not close a wall until the electrical, plumbing and HVAC rough-ins inside it have passed. It costs a day of patience and saves months of callbacks.
